Brasileirão Round 18 Wraps Up as Teams Prepare for World Cup Break

The 18th round of the 2026 Brasileirão concluded on Sunday, October 31, featuring five competitive matches before the league takes a hiatus for the World Cup. This round was pivotal for several teams as they aim to solidify their standings.

At 11 a.m., Red Bull Bragantino played a key match against Internacional, managing to keep their opponents close to the relegation zone while securing a spot in the top five of the league. Meanwhile, league leaders Palmeiras faced off against Chapecoense, prevailing in a match that stirred some controversy.

In another match, Atlético triumphed over Vasco, marking Vasco's third consecutive defeat and leaving them in the relegation zone. Fluminense, playing at Mineirão, took an early lead against Cruzeiro, but the latter staged a comeback to finish the match in a draw.

In a dramatic ending, São Paulo suffered a late defeat when Remo scored in the dying moments of the match. Currently, Flamengo, Bahia, Botafogo, Vitória, Mirassol, and Chapecoense have one postponed game each on their schedules.
