Victor Wembanyama authored a performance for the ages in his Western Conference Finals debut. The French wunderkind produced a Wilt Chamberlain-like outing to lead the Spurs to a double overtime victory over the Thunder. In the process, he cemented his status as one of the league's greatest talents, pairing style with substance in an all-time performance that had some claiming he stamped his status as the sport's best talent.
Wembanyama was looking to match his showing — or surpass it — in Game 2, but the reigning champions adjusted as best they could and found a way to slow him down just enough to pull off a win and even the series.
With Isaiah Hartenstein and Chet Holmgren both finding more success for Oklahoma City, Wembanyama's performance wasn't enough for the Spurs.

Wembanyama wasn't quite able to match the heights of his dizzying Game 1 display, scoring 21 points in a Game 2 loss, but he still made his presence felt all over the floor with 17 rebounds, six assists and four blocks.
Wembanyama was felled by foul trouble and occasional fatigue early on after a grueling Game 1. Wtih Chet Holmgren and Isaiah Hartenstein often serving as his primary guard, Wembanyama found it far harder to impose his will in the paint. Hartenstein in particular had a much more significant impact than he did in Game 1, playing 27 minutes and getting physical with Wembanyama.
